Optimizing the ECN process and upgrading Teamcenter
Air Products is a supplier of industrial gas and related process equipment. 2005 revenues were $8.1 billion. The company has operations in more than 30 countries.
Air Products had a paper-based, manual change management process. Although they had implemented Metaphase, they were not using the tool to manage engineering changes.
Synapsis played a pivotal role in upgrading their system from Metaphase 3.2 to Teamcenter 2.0 (Thin Client Interface). This included capturing requirements, designing the solution, managing the project, and implementing the upgrade itself. Later, Synapsis defined and implemented a new ECN workflow. Finally, Synapsis provided training on thin client technology.
Air Products is currently successfully running Teamcenter 2.0 and using it to improve their bottom line like never before. Their ECN process, which had been manual and paper-based, is now fully automated and globally managed in Teamcenter. With the help of Synapsis, their internal PLM engineers are now Teamcenter Thin Client experts and are leveraging Teamcenter to better meet their business needs on an on-going basis.
