Synapsis Technology, Inc., a provider of Environmental Compliance and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that German Avila, the company's product manager for its environmental solutions, has been selected to speak at the IPC/JEDEC International Conference on Lead Free Electronic Components and Assemblies being held March 7-9 in Santa Clara, California.
Mr. Avila's presentation, entitled "Looking Beyond RoHS and WEEE", will be held from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. on March 8 and will focus on the ever-increasing number of environmental regulations.
With more than 320 environmental regulations restricting hazardous materials today, Mr. Avila will discuss the impact of the European Union's RoHS and WEEE directives on electronics manufacturers as well as similar regulations and voluntary programs also being established in the United States, China, Japan and South Korea, for example.
He will also impart his knowledge on emerging technologies on the market and how they are enabling compliance with these regulations.
"Electronics manufacturers and their suppliers must embrace the inevitable now and modify and streamline their processes to address current and future regulations," said Andrew Wertkin, chief software architect at Synapsis.
"German's expertise in environmental compliance makes him an excellent source of information for OEMs and suppliers trying to understand the wide variety of regulations being developed across the world. His presentation will focus on how to ease the cost and other burdens associated with compliance, leverage technology and turn regulatory compliance into a competitive advantage."
Synapsis' Environmental Compliance solution, EMARS, and its Compliance Checker™ are patent-pending solutions that enable companies to comply with environmental regulations, such as RoHS, WEEE, China RoHS, and ELV, among others.
