Synapsis Technology, Inc., a provider of Environmental Compliance and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that it will be instructing three training courses for the IPC focusing on "Ensuring RoHS Compliance Through Materials Declaration Tools."
The courses will be conducted by German Avila, product manager for Synapsis Technology's environmental solutions. The courses will be offered on February 28 in Costa Mesa, California and March 16 in Dallas, Texas, as well as at the IPC/JEDEC International Conference on Lead Free Electronic Components and Assemblies being held March 7-9 in Santa Clara, California. Mr. Avila's presentation will from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on March 7. To register for one of this workshops, please visit the IPC website at www.ipc.org/IPCCalendar.asp.
Last week, Mr. Avila was honored with the IPC Distinguished Committee Service Award at the IPC Printed Circuits Expo, APEX and the Designers Summit at an awards luncheon. He was recognized with this award as a result of his significant contributions to the development of IPC-1751 and IPC-1752.
"This recognition of German's contributions by the IPC is well deserved," said Andrew Wertkin, chief software architect at Synapsis. "Environmental compliance regulations are complex and changing. Synapsis is proud to have such depth in domain expertise and thought leadership. This leadership allows us to engineer innovative solutions such as EMARS to reduce the complexity and burden of compliance management and enable design for compliance. Further, German's award recognizes our dedication to industry standards."
Obtaining detailed material declarations from suppliers is an important first step for companies that must assess the environmental compliance of their products. The newly developed IPC-1752 standard will simplify and lower the cost of collecting compliance data throughout the supply chain by reducing the number of submission formats. In this seminar, Mr. Avila will provide updates on the RoHS directive as well as a hands-on workshop on the use of the form to support compliance.
Synapsis' Environmental Compliance solution, EMARS, and its Compliance Checker™ are patent-pending solutions that enable companies to comply with environmental regulations, such as RoHS, WEEE, China RoHS, and ELV, among others. EMARS enables manufacturers to track, manage, and report the material content and environmental compliance status of their products. EMARS reduces the cost of compliance and minimizes the risk of compliance failures.
