Synapsis Awarded Industry-Optimized Level for the Fabrication and Assembly Industry in IBM's Business Partner Program

Synapsis Technology, Inc., a provider of Environmental Compliance and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that it has been awarded the Industry-Optimized Level for the Fabrication and Assembly industry in IBM's Business Partner program.

Synapsis achieved this partnership level for its patent-pending Environmental Material Aggregation and Reporting System (EMARS) that has been optimized for the IBM DB2 Universal Database Express and IBM Websphere Application Server Express.

"This designation by IBM gives us the opportunity to increase our visibility and build a closer relationship with IBM's Fabrication and Assembly team," said Lonnie Gillihan, president of Synapsis. "It also provides us access to key resources within IBM including technical and marketing and sales support to help us expand our customer base, shorten our sales cycles and better serve our clients."

In order for companies in the fabrication and assembly industry to compete in today's global marketplace, they must comply with industry regulations, including environmental regulations such as the RoHS (Restrictions on the use of certain Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directives. Non-compliance costs extend from potential fines to being completely shut out of key markets and lack of visibility to compliance information can lead to increased costs and excessive product redesign costs.
