About Synapsis

History

Synapsis Technology Inc., located in Spring House, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1999 with a goal of supporting integration of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and Parts Classification data into Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and offering both software applications and consulting services. This product focus made the company a suitable partner for PLM vendor UGS, which was in the process of expanding its PLM industry strategy from discrete manufacturing into Electronics and High Tech.

First successes

Synapsis' first product, EDAGateway™, introduced in 2003, enabled Electronic Design Automation (EDA) files and Bill of Materials (BOM) information to be downloaded to UGS' and Oracle's PLM systems.

Emerging opportunities

Although this was a reasonable starting point, it soon became clear that there were other interesting opportunities waiting in the wings, including support for the emerging Environmental Compliance requirements for the Electronics, High Tech, and Automotive markets.

Rapid growth

Consequently, the company expanded its product development, hired the necessary experts, formed partnerships with complementary application providers, and introduced its Environmental Material Aggregation and Reporting System (EMARS) solution in 2004.

Synapsis today

The company now has 80 employees, a development center (Synapsis Software India) in Noida, India, and a rapidly growing number of world-class customers and partners.
